About the Forge

Dirty Squirrel Forge was founded in 2021 in Norfolk, Virginia. The forge is owned and operated by Brandon Elliott. Brandon served in the US Navy from 2014 to 2019, making DSF a 100% veteran owned and operated business.

The sole owner and craftsman, Brandon's roots are originally from Louisiana. He grew up in a small town with a large family, and spent most of his time working with his hands. He's been welding and woodcrafting since he was 7 years old, giving him over 20 years of experience.

Brandon joined the Navy at 19 and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. He met his wife in 2019 and continues to live in Norfolk with her and their two dogs, Shiba and Koala.

The forge started small, in a little cove off of the shed in backyard of their home. It has since grown rapidly into a business that has shipped all over the continental United States. 

Each custom piece is hand picked from the metal to the handle. The handles are all locally sourced from other small businesses in the Hampton Roads area. The metal is 100% recycled material that is stress tested individually by hand before being shipped out. 

When designing custom pieces, every part from the shape of the blade to the composition of the handle is selected with the client's goals in mind. 

Each item made through the forge is hand crafted with care, with the intention of giving the best possible product that will last for years to come.
